Red or Collage-Red

The original
Done in the middle of the night with minimal light

What was I thinking? But love his vibrant background

So then I  transferred some text to a sheet of paper, gelled it all dry and printed Mr. Red onto that paper.  Kinda scratchy transfer but I like the unexpected.

Any thoughts?

  1. I like Red, but I love the one with text. Of course, I love text so that makes sense. All these years, and I still marvel that we can have a thought and share it forever.....

  4. I like the complexity of the one with the print transfer. I have never in my life been able to make a transfer. I love the way things show through each other.

  6. I like the text - y one best , and HB (as usual) sees deeper than me. Deb and Joss - I love text showing thru anything and I love, love, love transfers and their unpredictability. Suki, I was really bad at it for a long time but have learned to have patience and that helps. Biggest things is NOT to use ink jet - it's water soluble.
What facinates me is the difference between the two. Layers. I love layers. Usually don't have enough patience for too many but I'm learning.

This guy may have a few more iterations, watch this space.

  9. Both for me as well.

I'm a big symbolism person and red represents life and passion and vitality...coupled with text, it's like he's sharing all of the marvelous innerworkings of his brain.

    Kudos :]
