Mirror and Sunny

A while ago I posted a picture of a painted mirror which DH wanted so I started another one. Got an antique wood framed mirror for 10 dollars and fixed and painted the frame. DH re-installed the mirror which was loose and the new mirror is ready to go to it's new home up in Canada in a cabin on a beautiful lake.

I found another mirror at Salvation Army - paid $6.oo and am going to redo that one also. Might even try to sell it!

Looking at the mirror can you see the reflection of something yellow and sunny looking? It's Lynn's gorgeous Sunflower Quilt which I bought from her - it spoke to me across the blogosphere and I just HAD to have it! Let me tell you something - this is much more wonderful in person than it's pictures show. It is beautifully done and finished and the overall piece is really wonderful. Lynn - I love it and DH is working on a dowel to hang it from and a place to hang it. I want it in every room....
Have a wonderful friday everyone

I think you have found a new calling by taking old mirrors and making them beautiful pieces of art.

Lynn's quilt is a beauty. I can see why you would want this bit of sunshine in your home.

Hi Mim! The mirror is beautiful, I love the assymetrical design of your decoration, and the reflection of Lynn's sunbathed orange sunflower quilt is perfect!

Years ago, Deb and I shared a booth at an antique mall, which gave us a great excuse to shop for old things. Once we found a old beautiful red mirror at a flea market that Deb bought and I think eventually sold in the booth but it was one of those items that we were really sad to see go. Ahhh, the power of the mirror.

Mim, I love the mirror. I can see why your DH wanted to keep it. Your talent shines through in your design in the painting. Colors are great too.

So very glad you are happy with the quilt you call "Sunny". It looks great there in the mirror. I can't wait to see it hanging. Thanks again for wanting it. I am honoured!!!

I love this mirror, Mim. I used to paint seconhand furniture like this and it sold really well. Especially children's furniture. I sold several "time out" chairs for kids and gave them something fun to sit on while being repremanded! I hope you decide to do that. Your work is amazing.

Lynn's quilt is so very pretty and bright.
