A strange experience - eye-opening....

I want to outline an experience that I recently had - comments appreciated.

Let me set the stage.

I am working in Canada this week. There is a woman working at the plant who gorgeous, young and thin and just lovely looking. Additionally she is very nice and is mother to 4 little kids. I like her.

I was sitting in a conference room with a colleague, no one outside the room could see me - but he could be seen from thru the door. She was walking by the room, saw my colleague and came in to say hello. And to all outward appearance it was a normal greeting - but oh my - she came into the room with something else that I - being a woman myself and never getting the full treatment - have never seen really happen. She walked into the room like I've never seen someone come in. She didn't just walk into the room, she Entered the room. She oozed sex appeal. She owned the room and she would have owned him in a minute. As soon as she saw me whatever it was got turned off immediately. But in that minute, I saw the power of a beautiful woman - who knew her power and loved using it. Conversation was of course, completely normal - we chatted a bit. But I was stunned at the experience. I've never seen something like that get turned on and off so...purposely!

I don't know if her behavior was what she normally did around men. If so, ...wow - poor guys, they'd be falling at her feet. And I say again - she's a nice woman and I like her. She is not a bitch - not at all!

Frankly if I looked like that - I'd use that power also I suppose. It's like having a magic wand. But in all my days, I have never seen such an immediate transformation from vamp to co-worker. I think she would have eaten him alive if I wasn't there. And he would never have even known what hit him.

Have you even seen or experienced something like this?

I've seen similar but probably not to that extent. I've seen shameless flirtation with male co-workers who may or may not be married. The lady I'm thinking of giggles, touches his arm while talking, leans into him, etc. She wouldn't do the same talking to me, so it is aimed at the men. I don't get it. Women have fought for years to be taken seriously in the workplace and then some floozie comes along and ruins it for the rest of us who don't purr, giggle, talk baby-talk, etc. The lady I know is also very nice, just behaves differently around men.

I wonder how the guy reacted, as he must have been aware of the initial behavior as it was directed at him...and then the shut down mode when she noticed you there. Could you see his reactions? Dialated pupils, flared nostrils, hard on? Sorry, but those are the signs right? It's been a while since I had that effect! LOL Of course I never did that in a work place, I don't think...so many years since I worked in an agency. But could have. Actually, I "got" a man who I wound up living with for five years, in HIS work place...I was a "customer" of sorts. But that is where it started. Yep, guilty!
But it was nearly 40 years ago.

Yes, I've seen it and I suppose if I'm honest I've done it. Not with all men though, only if I fancied one in particular! Maybe she's after this chap? Men can be so gullible. Those were the days, at 60 the charms have disappeared, and the figure!

I'm envious that she still posesses those qualities ( drop dead sexy looks) but I know that behaviour can be dangerous and hurtful. Also misunderstood.

When we reach a certain age we become "invisible." Sad, but true!

Been there, seen that. Working in a hospital with all the docs and nurses around gave them lots of opportunities like that. I remember one nurse who actually broke up a marriage with her hitting on a guy. Sad but true.

Arn't people interesting?!

I'm sure I've seen similar behavior but not in a very long time. I work with a very pretty girl and guys are always falling all over her but she doesn't give a hoot. She just ignores them. It makes me laugh. Is this woman you are referring to married?

all the above comments were really interesting. they don't call women 'cock teasers' for nothing...unfortunately in this day and age it can lead to unwanted attention and even crime. a harmless bit of flirting is fine, but beware where this can take you.... did you say canada??

well i don't know what to say because i have to admit at 60 plus i am feeling more sexual and sensual these days, not less, and i don't mind being the flirter or the flirtee in good fun. i think this is good for me: it's passion that can be expressed in lots of ways and this is one of them. at least that's the way i see it.

now that i've said that, i will also say that there are some women who turn on steamy charm for their own egos and without concern for how men, women, marriage, jobs might be affected. and that sickens me. i don't like it when real emotions are toyed with for game-playing selfish reasons.

i found this post very interesting, mim. your observations and the way you described the scene is fascinating.

ah sex and attraction....

interesting. never having been beautiful, i have never experience this. some people, male or female, just have a magnetic appearance. I will say, being a Libra, I love to flirt at times. Others mistake this for something it isnt. Its just fun. Perhaps this is the starting inspiration for a novel??

I've seen it and have probably done it. Ok, I have done it-I have a great phone voice when I want to and if dropping my voice an few notes will perk someone up and get their focus on me so I can get done what I need to accomplish-I will do it. In my mind, that's like raising your voice to get dog's attention. However, I don't know if I'd do the same thing if I had big bazoongas.

I also enjoy a good flirt, as long as both parties understand that a flirt is a flirt and nothing more.

But, the last few years I was in an office, I didn't really indulge. It's too easy for someone to roll it over and have it make you look like the C word, and I was fat and always felt the joke behind the flirt.

Now that I'm not fat, I think, sadly, I'll be doubly careful-before I didn't have to worry about anyone taking me up on my "offer"...flirtation was understood.

One of the things that's blowing MY mind these days is the cougar phenomenon. And I think the young boys are just "hitting it" a lot of times for an easy piece of tail-and that makes me very sad for some women who are still gullible at an older age.

Interesting comments - let me just point out that this was not "flirting". This was bringing out the heavy guns and shoot to kill. I wouldn't trust anyone in the room with that power - no how

As Lolo says, in a few years she will probably be invisible.

Yes, I must admit that I did it a lot when I was younger. Got me lots of pretty good jobs when interviewed. It can be a useful tool, but it can be dangerous if not handled properply. Probably, she had her sights on him prior to that meeting.
