New Quilt

A few months ago a friend asked me to make a quilt for a gift that she wanted to give to her SIL. The theme of the new baby room is "Under the Sea". I couldn't find any appropriate material at the time, so didn't make the quilt. Then I found this fabric in Florida and finally had a chance to try to whip a baby quilt together.

I started it on Friday night and just finished on Sunday night. Other chores wait. The house is a mess but who cares. This quilt came out great and it's completely my own design, no patterns followed. I hope she likes it....

'hope she likes it' ---she's going to love it. perfect for the theme, not too babyish, so can be used for ages even when the baby grows bigger and bright and happy. terrific mim.

this is a fabulous quilt full of inspiration. I never heard of creating a baby room or any room with a "theme." This theme is a great one as a of course the baby has just emerged from a water environment. maybe it will help with the transition.

Wow, wonderful Mim!! And right up your alley.
When I did murals in CA I did lots of 'themed' nurseries and kid's rooms. My favorite ones were when I had free reign!

These days anything that someone makes by hand, with love and thought, should be received with joyful arms. I'm betting your friend will be delighted with this quilt. You followed the theme of the room. It's a wonderful quilt.
Job well done. :)Bea

beautiful choice of fabrics. I do love the two borders that look like water...stipes do that well!
Your personal pattern is terrific.
The center fish really give it depth!
The baby will get many years of enjoyment from this wonderful quilt Mim. Bravo! And I am impressed with the cord around the inner picture!
