More Doodling, painting, playing around

For a change it's lovely to not have a "project" to work on - I'm enjoying playing with paints and pens and different papers.

I wanted to get over my fear of hot pressed watercolor paper so have been experimenting using a mica based, powdered paint that you mix up to the strength you want. The colors are not subtle, and they sort of sparkle but it's fun and they are smooth and fun to push around on the smooth paper.

Color studies 1,2 and 3

I took the fish from a few posts ago, and finished him off with watercolors.  I like him.....

3 friends are new or again grandma's which made me think of mamma's and babies - hence the mother and child.  And the starfish just popped out for fun.

 What do you think?

I think that art should be fun,
and it's been fun
rediscovering that.

Your art is very fun to see! Your fish has such personality! And the colors are great too? Glad you are enjoying yourself! You should join us over at paint party Friday , you can get there via the icon on my side bar, then get your own there. It's a great group and supportive audience .

The colours are dreamy...even as *mere backgrounds*, my mind is already creating stories about the different horizons. The Mim-Fish! WOW! J'adore! Luv the Madonna and Child..and the Star Fish... you ARE having fun - but still creating wonderful ART that brings a smile to our faces!

Brava!

Love,

I love your fish. It has such character with color. You can't go wrong with madonna and child no matter how you represent her. Enjoy your art. It is fabulous.
