I haven't been sketching enough..or drawing. Been too much doing of "crafts" such as knitting and quilting - and I love that, but wanted to do a few drawings before dinner.
So I decided to use my house as a model, and set up 5 minute sketches of a few views that I could see from my comfy perch on the sofa.
Living room leading to sunroom.
Gas Fireplace - lovely in the winter.
A side table.
My feet - very comfy.
G'night!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE SKETCHES!
Thank you my dear!
Yes these are fab.. and it is important to draw as much as we can.. Good reminder.
Amazing what can be done in 5 minutes! Good job and good to see you sketching again. Maybe you should take Ms Em and dust her off. She could go fishing. 'L' is coming up. lol
Really like your quick sketches - you've captured the comfort of home very well. Especially the cozy feet. Well done!
Mim, what a fun way to see your abode. Lovely pieces you have there, including your feet! LOL
Terrific sketches. I hear you. I make ATCs and think I should be quilting, I quilt and think I should be drawing...and so on. Funny when we have so much creative energy and outlets. Lucky us!
Very enjoyable sketches!
Yep, it is fun to sketch what you are looking at. I like the relaxed feel of your sketches. When I try this I get drawn into the details. UGH...
Mim, I love sketches, photos of your house. That's what I WANT, a real home, but it's something I can't quite figure out how to do. However, knowing what I want is a good first step.
I admire you so much-there is much of your life I envy-someone to bike with, kayak with, share art with, a fulfilling career. I say envy in its nicest form-it makes me happy that you have those things because I know it's possible. Hah-you are my example!
I fun tour - love the feet :)
These are so cute, Mim. Interesting take on what's right at hand. Very good sketching.
The sketches are fantastic Mim.
xoxo
Nice and sketchy. Are you minus a toe?
Hi, I really like your sketches and hope that this interests you and your readers.
I am attempting to amass a large collection of portraits of Frankenstein's Monster in as many different styles and in as many different media as possible as an ongoing art project. The only stipulation is that the size is 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches (standard artist trading card size) and that each card has name, date, location, title and anything else you care to add on the back.
I welcome cards from both amateur and professional artists.
I will be leaving blank cards with instructions and mailing address in galleries, colleges, art shops, on buses, handing them out in the street and wherever else I can think of.
If you think you can spare the time to produce a little something, please send a portrait to:
A Patchwork Of Flesh
45 Silversea Drive
Westcliff on Sea
Essex
SS0 9XD
United Kingdom
Each card I receive will be uploaded at http://apatchworkofflesh.blogspot.com/ to produce an on-line gallery, I then hope to put on an exhibition of these cards in a gallery.
If you could add me as a link or give the project a mention I would be really grateful.
Wonderful interiors...and tootsies!
;)
Your feet are my favorite : )
thanks all - and my little toe is there but it is a rather stumpy vestigial toe and always tries to hide
