Animal Wednesday - desperate for a woodland animal

I love to take pictures of animals when we are out bike riding - but with our noisy approach they usually scatter before I can stop, get the camera out, focus and shot. The photo above is a perfect example - I swear there was a frog there but I can't find him in the picture. He hopped away and was so perfectly blended that I didn't even see him hop away. Well, at least you see my feet....

So, when we got back to the car, I found this glistening bronzy bug and decided that it would do for Animal Wednesday - I mean really - Bugs are Animals too!!

Happy Animal Wednesday!!

and thank you for your kind comments on my last post. More to come in that medium I'm sure

Some days are like that, but that pretty beetle was a life saver. Maybe it is the infamous gold bug. Lol

omg.....it's a Japanese Beetle! They are devouring my wisteria blossoms that came late this year. Then they'll move to the flower beds....
I'll have nothing but bug-stink and shredded flowers soon.
WAH!

Let's hear it for the Bugs of the world. As long as they stay outside they are fine with me!
This one is a beauty too! I agree.
Smart Frog did not want to get run over by you bikers! HAW!!!!
OH BTW YOUR Painting Yesterday was a WINNER too! (again, she said).

i just noted some japanese beetles today on my little walk. they are pretty.

i also noted a small skunk by the edge of the road trying to hide i think as he rear end was sticking out and tail raised. i walked quickly and quietly by and didnt get sprayed.

This happens to me all the time. I see the neatest animal and they disappear into thin air while I am trying to get my gear together. The Japanese beetle will do for today. They are pretty things even though they are destructive to the garden. Rotten little buggers. HAW.

Bugs are animals as well, and mostly they will pose for a picture (instead of hopping frogs...). HAW!

Poor Japanese Beetle....he is so beautiful....but - alas - quite destructive... who would have thought such a tiny creature could devour so much!

Still, you got your AW shot!!! (But I'll bet that Froggie was a cutie too!)

HAW!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

i know japanese beetles very well from my parent's rose bushes and they were foes, not friends, so i cannot change my perspective and like them now.

they don't bring much to the proverbial table....

I didn't know it was a Japanese beetle!! I swear! I should have killed it - it's evil!!!

Forgive me bug haters - sorry sorry sorry!

When I can't find wildlife for Animal Wednesday my dog is the star! It's okay, kill the beetle; my sister hates them in WI.

we pulled them off the roses dropped them by the dozens in boiling water. i never felt guilt. even now i won't kill a spider or most bugs but these crunchies, yuck!
