Tell me what you really think

Her forehead is still a bit wet so looks wierd - ignore that please.

This is really the first time I have ever painted a portrait and I still hate noses. They confuse me.

But really - whadda ya think? (just remember, I had a tough day at work, I'm tired and my car battery died yesterday stranding me at the walking field, and my feet hurt, and I'm just a human). Be honest!

love Mim

mim —— i could not get past the first image. i actually love that..........it reminded me of a painting by gauguin we have at our art museum here in town......that laying down of planes of color.

now that i look again, i see elements of picasso?

not kidding. it's gritty and wonderful. and so expressive.

Gorgeous, Mim! And I too, love the first one - it reminds me of the Impressionists. I love the last one, too, with the orange planes that offset the dark hair. Well done!! xo Pam

It is amazing...a bit of Gauguin, Picasso, and even Warhol! But...it's mostly MIM! It's vital, it's alive....it is wonderful. That's my honest opinion!

Love,

E-pera....a-ha--ha!

I am laughing too hard to leave a comment about the art. I am not laughing AT you; well I guess I am laughing AT YOU...warning us about not hurting your feelings because 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and so on. Too funny.

When I gather myself and stop laughing I will tell you I loved looking at each step in your process start to finish (sans bumpy forehead)...

I love watching how artists such as yourself lay layer upon layer of paint down to get to the finished painting. I am in awe.

I am no longer laughing.

I am too busy being HONESTLY in AWE.

WOW!!!!

and it has nothing whatsoever to do with 1, 2 3 4 or 5...maybe 6 a little. LOL

Well you HAVE had a bad day but not in the painting area. Good job. I love the first one too. It would be fun to do a portrait and just leave hints of the features like this. Faces are NOT easy. Bravo for doing one.

HONESTLY, THIS IS GREAT! I mean, really, really good, considering the day you had. It's good to see that you are still stretching yourself artistically. I've been very lazy in that department this summer, and I have never tried to paint a portrait.

It is beautiful! I've never seen this side of you, but you do have talent for portraits. You've captured so much expression but yet, it still feels simple and not overdone. It's very good!

The first one's lovely then I have a thing for the abstract. I can take a photo if I want realism.
