Exploded ATC

You tell me if this is "ATC - Legal" or not. Opinions wanted.

This Red Envelope is the appropriate, legal ATC size - 2.5 by 3.5 inches. But when opened -
it's 7 inches by 2.5. The main section is the 2.5 x 3.5 size, and the sides are just extra.

Is it "ATC - legal"????? (or do I have to go to ATC jail?)

I'm not up on ATC law, but I do believe that if the outside dimensions stay true then the actual art piece can extend beyond those boundaries by being unfolded.

I promise to come bail you out if this isn't true ;P

I'll stop back and read the verdict-I've wondered about that myself....similar situation with something that wants to go OFF to the top of the card.

Pop-up ATC's?

You may be lucky and avoid the ATC police. You know they are everywhere these days now that the craze has really caught on.
Back in the old days we could turn those things out right and left, thumb our brushes at the slow, lazy ATCPOlice.
NOT any more. I would be very careful. Keep it folded and in the envelope until you are in a room with the drapes drawn. If you hear a plane, PUT IT AWAY, don't go near the windows.
I would have your back but.........
hey, I have grandchildren to worry about. :)Bea

I love Beas comment! And would adhere to it.

My personal experience: I made the alligator remember that folded out its snout.
Nothing bad has happened to me since doing this, but then I sent it on to another blogger. I'd have to go to the ABC blog to see who got that one; no it was A it went to Linda. Has she been in jail lately? Has anyone heard from her?
Is she in hiding? We'll have to see if she surfaces and lets us know if the unfolded Alligator has brought her any bad luck or imprisonment. Just be careful.

Otherwise, its a very nice ATC.
Open and shut case!

I seem to remember someone saying that if the original ATC is the correct size, whatever happens beyond that is just fun. Some can get thicker and some can fan out.

Hmm, wish I could remember who said it.

Go for it Mim!!! I know a good lawyer if the ATC police come and get you.

All That Counts! How cute an idea that is! Summer is over I can walk out to the car without breaking out into a sweat!

What happens with the ATC stays with the ATC.
Loved reading all the comments here,,,,I wouldn't worry a lot about having to go meet Big Bertha. Besides that, a good friend should be willing to go to jail with you. I nominate jk,,,,,

well, of course that would be KJ!

I thought the whole purpose of art was to express yourself....if you are busting a move, than bust on out of that confining space.

I've seen a few that have added dimensions so I think it's kosher.

The ATC police won't arrest you Mim. You can quickly fold it up if they come around. They aren't too quick on the up take.
