This is interesting because it doesn't look this plain in real life. It's glittery-er, and heavy feeling and has texture and depth. But somehow this scan flattens it out to yuck.
Either way, it's a page for
Cathies book and I hope she likes it when it wings it's way back home to her. It's off to Suki soon.

My camera does not always do the colors justice either! Art is meant to be enjoyed in the flesh I think! I'm sure Cathie will love it.
You're so 'collagey' clever. I've kept a host of things from my kid's younger lives and am seeking inspiration to produce a 'treasure box' for each. I'm not mad about scrapbooking and how do you put a pair of two year old's dungarees in a scrap book. I wish I was more creative.
She will love this Mim. I can kinda see the glitter even before I read your narrative.
I think it looks far nicer than yuck. Love that mask. You know when you have looked at reproductions of paintings, small pictures in art books. They look great, but then you go to a museum and see the real painting. It is always a shock as even the finest reproduction cannot meet the reality.
Thank you for describing it because after you did that then I looked at the picture AGAIN and it was heavy and glittery and gorgeous, JUST LIKE YOU SAID! :)Bea
I think it looks wonderful!
Marianne (the glitter queen) usually uses her camera and puts the glittery object in the light to get the most shimmer. I think she even uses the flash as a filler. Scanners do smush things too much sometimes.
She will love it. Cameras and scanners never do Art work justice. It looks lovely anyway.
Yuck is much too strong....looks like it is awesome! I'm sure it shows more life in person. She will certainly be pleased!
Im excited to see someone else SEWING on a piece...and the embellishments are terrific. My computer shows the glitter well when I enlarge the photo! The whole page is terrific! Bravo, well done.
you are trying all kinds of mediums, mim! i love how you do that. i think the whole page is terrific too.
xo
This is really nice, and I know what you mean about the camera not doing it justice. I can't wait to see it after Suki adds her page.
i was wondering where some of these books were...i do not think it is flat or yuck, but fab. very fab!
