Animal Wednesday - Samson the black lab

For the past two nights I've dreamed of him. In one dream he was young and very sprightly but very loving. In the other one he was misbehaving a tiny bit - not clearly listening to me but having a good time.

I have two explanations for these dream. One is that since my mom got a dog Samson is in my mind more. The other is this...

My first best dog , Parker, was born around April 1st and had a great personality. My second devil dog was born around Jan 1st and was very difficult and we only could keep her for 14 months before we gave up. Samson, my soul mate dog, was born on April 1st and was delightful and lovely and loyal and not overly smart.

I'm wondering if Samson is sending me a message that he is going to be born again. I believe this but it's gonna take some convincing to get dh to buy into the concept.

We'll see.....

Did you ever see someone look more content than holding a fat pup?

This must be in 1987 - A whole little of puppies to choose from

My boy all growed up warming himself by the fire and probably asking "where are you going? to bed? can I go too?"

Happy Animal Wednesday - I hope you have your soul pet handy.

Aawwww, I just love puppies. Especially labs. They are so loving and full of energy. I can just see you paddling down the river with a lab in the canoe with you. Or riding your bike with a big sloppy oppy lab trailing along. HAW.

I think signs are not to be ignored.....
I do believe in dreams telling you something. What a coincidence all those dogs were born on the 1st....
No matter if Samson is trying to tell you something or your own heart ..... follow it. Your DH will follow as well ;)
Love that last picture. Lo did a great painting of that picture!

I'm not sure I believe in pets being reborn, but I do believe pets bring huge joy to our lives, and I'm positive you need a new fat puppy to wiggle his way into your life! Surely DH will see the wisdom in you being happy!

Mim, I think it's about time you filled the void Sampson left. And now that your life isn't as complicated as it has been (besides the new/old job) I think the timing is perfect! And Spring is the best time to train a pup ;)
I love the way you let Sammy choose you. Let him do it again.

xo

Sammy was adorable! I share your love of Labs....Bofie (my Chocolate Lab) is with my Ex....and there are many days when I miss him more than Chris! It makes me feel good to know he STILL has some of the toys I bought him......

Doggies are wonderful.....I agree with Lo - it's TIME for you to find a new Souly-Doggie!

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

Bandini our wonder cat (six toes and a cropped tail with a right angle tip) was born on April 1. Good day for pets. Is it time for a new family member? If it is he will come to you. Hope so. XXXXOOOHilary

Dear anon
Do you remember going to the 92nd street aspa with me to get parker? I remember you there saying "what about this one, he looks so quiet and shy". And then when we got him out of his cage he got so nutty he ran head first into a plate glass window. What a silly dog but the greatest.

Could a new dog be in your future? Sounds like it. I often have dreams of my dogs-gone-by. I miss them, but I'll leave them in my dreams. They are a lot of work. Have fun exploring your dreams.

Ah well as you know I have a soft spot for Labradors. Have a yellow one at the moment but had a black one before. Lovely old girl she was.

I love labs. I had a black lab named Cosmo, that I rescued from the pound when I was still in high school. She was my best pal, and i still miss her. I hope you get a new pup. As I type, my two dogs are sleeping on blankets at my feet. Dogs are the best. xo Pam

Dear Mim,
I do remember. I mistook my pup Desiree and our current and insane cat Bandini in the same way. They look so sweet when they want to manipulate you and hide the madcap energy! A very good dog, Parker. I have a soft spot for Ping Lee tho who remains first in my heart in the canine canon.

I have never been without a dog in my life. When I thought about that this morning, I was astounded...that's a lot of dogs! And most of them were black labs...even now, I have a lab cross sleeping at my feet.

Samson is most certainly sending you his message...I have dreams similar to this when I know beyond a doubt someone is ready to come back for another go..

It's time for another soul pet, Mim!!

He looks so adorable! When he was a pup, but also as a grown big black boy.

Life without an animals companionship is not fully lived. I hope there is a pup in your future. Those puppy pix are adorable!
