Animal (and knitting) Wednesday - bulldog pup (not mine!) and scarfs (mine)

A friend at work got a new pup - who arrived by plane last week. He's settling into their household and is just so adorable. Hard to believe this little guy will grow into a sturdy big bulldog boy....but he will!

I knit this scarf, which is one big round thing, and it was like knitting a cloud!
I did learn that if you drop a stitch while knitting lace, you can get a perfect Frankenstein-looking scar-stitch as you pick it up (not shown). I love the scarf, but wouldn't wear it hanging loose like they show but would wrap it around my neck twice for a very cozy, very soft warm scarf.

I had more mohair and some very sharp straight needles so I started this new scarf.

..maybe for me...maybe for a christmas present... we'll see. On this one I have learned that I have to knit after I do the lace part, otherwise it looks like holes in the scarf and not lace. I'm sure other knitters know this, but I'm not using a pattern for this scarf and am learning as I go. I'm also learning that mohair doesn't undo very easily or well, and takes much patience.

Happy Animal Wednesday!

And my first time joining the Yarnalongers here

OMG OMG OMG, I am deeply and sriously in love. He looks just like Winston -our very first bullie. I absolutely adore bullies- even though I would never exchange my Snuffles for one now. This is a very HAW for me, seeing this guy!

I am knitting scarfs too for gifts but out of alpaca which is very soft too. i am just doing garter stitch which is all i know. Mohair makes me itch so i know i'll pass that yarn by.

cute baby pup.

What a swwweeeet puppy. I haven't seen a bulldog pup before.

I love your scarf. It does look like a cloud. I bet it is warm and cozy too. One would feel so elegant with that fluffy lace wrapped around their neck.

Oh, what a sweeeeeet pup! Absolutely adorable!

I envy you your ability! I love the scarves...they look so fragile and yet I know how strong mohair is. They'll look lovely on you! xx

I like the idea of those circular snoody things, no trailing ends.

He is beautiful, the first time my huubby has ever been interested in my blog watching!
I always try to avoid mohair because of the problems if I need to rip back, but your scarves are looking great.

Though I've never had to do it (yet), I hear that it's best to put mohair yarn in the freezer before attempting to frog it.

You're a far better person than I am, dearie. I know nothing about knitting and this all sounds like Greek to me, but that is one beautiful scarf!

Aren't Bulldog puppies just the cutest?
