Animal Wednesday - my Sammy

Do you recognize the painting style?  Yup - it's an original Lo painting, lucky me.

A few weeks ago I commissioned Lo to paint a portrait of my best dog Samson.  She painted it and kept me updated via email about it's status and we agreed that she would mail it to me when completed.  Lo mailed the package and I waited and waited and it didn't come.  I was SO upset, so was Lo...then we found out that the Post Office had sent it back for address corrections.  So then Lo sent it back again and I got to open it and (of course) burst into tears.  I adore this painting!  He was such a good dog and Lo captured his peaceful yet somewhat anxious (how can I please you?) look.

And look at the background?  Isn't it gorgeous?

Happy Animal Wednesday - kiss and hug all your pets - they are so precious!

I really hope you like it Mim and aren't just being nice :)

He really was a handsome dog!

I posted it as well because we have different audiences. And he does make a great AW model!

I knew immediately whose style of painting this was!

What a beautifully done portrait. What soulful eyes Sam had. Wow. The colors are magnificent.

And no, Lo, I am NOT saying it just to be nice, I MEAN IT and I am positive Mim means it too. It is absolutely wonderful!

I have loved your Samson since he used to be a part of your old blogger header. (You KNOW I have a special place in my ♥ for Labs!)

No one.... that's NO ONE...can bring an animal back to life like our Lolo... it's that wonderful combination of her deft painting hands...and her intuitive soul.

What a beautiful painting.....

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

It is so beautiful Mim! I saw it first on Lolo's blog and then came over here. I'm so glad she could capture Samson for you so perfectly. He looks like a good solid dog with great character.

He's beautiful, then I have a penchant for labradors. There's one sprawled all over my bed as I type. Lovely painting, so glad you finally got it.

Isnt this just WOW and AWESOME!!!!!
I was waiting for this post....and now I see the reason it took so long!
My gosh what stress this must have caused! But how lucky he was only traveling and not lost!
I know exactly how you felt when you took the first glance at this precious painting, must have been pretty similar to my experience when I opened my Sjimmie painting.
No one else can capture the soul and spirit of an animal in this way better than Lo.
Ahhh and those eyes he must have been such a special dog!
Love the new background! A real "Lo" sky.
Well, beautiful in all ways dear!
Happy Animal Wednesday late...
