I was looking thru the EDM challenges, as I don't really do them in any order (and have only done two so far anyway). One of the recent ones was to draw something on your desk (at least I thought it was) but I couldn't find this topic on the list; but I did find #37 - keys; # 56 - self, #117 - round and #83 - body of water. (this last one is cheating, this is an old piece for IF- polar).
No. 83 - body of water - one of my very first watercolors. Rather flat in retrospect, but I was happy with it at the time.
No. 56 - self portrait. You can read more about this here.
No 117 - Round. quick sketches of spheres. Could use more definition on the shadows as usual.
And finally - no 37 - keys. I started this for an IF (missing) and added the color last night. Big mistake as I started falling asleep while painting and drew inside the lines, but oh well, live and learn.

Your first watercolor? Wow! I love it. I love the colors and the way the tree line is silhouetted. Beautiful! The portrait is really cool. Just how was that done? I went to the link but it didn't say anything about technique and it's most unusual. That first sphere I thought was a woman's hair veiwed from the back. Sorry, but I guess after the portrait I just interpreted it that way. Yes, the shadows could use more definition, but that will come with time and practice. Your work is so fantastic! Love the keys. I really liked that theme for IF. There are so many ways to interpret it. Great job!
