Animal Wednesday - a pug in the snow

My brother sent me this picture of his pug, Maggie, "enjoying" the snow up in a skiing area in California. Maggie is a sweet adorable pug, totally loving - one of those pugs that is so happy to see you when you arrive that she turns into a comma shape and can't walk straight. I'm very fond of this snorting, snoring dog...but I know that she doesn't like snow. She get's buried in it, and it's wet and cold and she's not used to it! We had a pug while growing up in Brooklyn, and when it snowed we put little booties on her feet and a little red coat with black trim and a tiny pocket. (I always wondered about that pocket; was it for a spare biscuit?) The booties always made her walk like a German soldier with her feet kicked out straight in front of her. So funny.

Anyway, here is Maggie (formal name; Magnolia) in the snow - ain't she cute???

We have a new Animal Wednesday member - Susan - awesome work on her blog - go check it out and do the Mr. Linky thing if you have a chance.

HAW all - enjoy the snow if you have it.

Poor little Maggie. I can see why she doesn't like the snow. I wouldn't like to be buried in snow either. Happy AW.

haha--so cute! My sister has two pugs and they hate the snow, too. I have a corgi who is very low to the ground and he bounds through deep snow like a bunny!

Pugs really aren't dogs at all. They're clowns in little doggie suits! Maggie is adorable!!

mim, i know about that pocket: it is for jellybeans. i'm very surprised you didn't know this. pugs love jellybeans. i know because i borrowed some once from a pug named petunia and she tried to bite me. i threw a frozen brussels sprout at her and that was that. i don't know what i would have done if it hadn;t worked......

sincerely yours,
emily

Maggie is cracking me up all buried in the snow like that. Does someone have to pull her out of there or can she get out by herself?

My heart goes out to this little dog. I do believe he is cold, is NOT having fun and wants to go inside as I would in the same prediciment. Tell your brother I said so.

A dog with boots! I have told my schnauzers about it and they are still rolling over the floor with their paws on their belly.
