Sunday River images

River kayaking on sunday - or maybe I should call it river drifting. It was a beautiful overcast warm, slightly breezy day - perfect for being on the river.

These first set of images would be perfect for AW - but I can't resist posting them. The turtles on this river are shyer than the ones on the river we usually go to - less speedboats on this river so they must not be used to noise. But it's a cute series isn't it?

The colors are just wonderful at this time of year - look at these gorgeous reds, yellows, greens - I couldn't get over the richness of it all.

Let's see if Blogger will let me upload a video that I took yesterday....it wouldn't do it last night. Right now it's looking good....it loaded and it's Processing....OK - the twirly thing has stopped so I hope this short drifting video conveys the absolute sense of relaxation I had on Sunday.

In my book, since I didn't think of much else...it was an A+ day

I can just hear the turtles plop, plopp, plopping into the river as you get closer.

Oh! fantastic! Mim, this is my favorite post and an absolutly perfect one to begin the week with. monday morning work :(
mims post :) :) :) :) :):) :)

I am so envious of your river, i would love to have one nearby (i shouldn't be greedy since we have so much) but our only kayaking is done in the ocean and it's defintely not a relaxing float. So glad you showed the turtles too, i love them!!

I agree, A+

Ah, Mim.....what a wonderful, idyllic Sunday you had.... those turtles - and the sequence of your photos....so funny and adorable!
(We have much smaller turtles in the de Young fountain....but with all of this cold weather, they have not shown themselves in months....)

The video was heavenly..I felt like I was drifting alone with you....feeling the warm and lazy breezes....

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

p.s. how nice to hear your voice

Zoe would LOVE those turtles. There is an aerobics center close to our house that has a pond and of course turtles. She makes us walk through there at least once per week to see the turtles.

Beautiful. Looks like turtles do it 'slower'. Nice to put the voice to the face as well

Oh that was fun drifting along the river with you. So glad it posted. Love the colors there. and Love the turtles. Nice you got the sequence of them getting off the log till there were none. Your voice reminds me of a Friend I have here. You both really sound a lot a like. :)

Mim, your outings are always so interesting. Because of you I have decided to accomplish one or two things on my bucket list this fall. The first thing is doing a Zipline. We have one not too far from me that goes through a heavily wooded area. I want to wait until it is cooler and the trees are colorful. The second thing is Tubing down the river. I can't swim and I'm afraid of kayaking or canoeing, but I think I can handle tubing. Again, I want to wait for better, prettier weather. I love your video and the turtles are great.
