DH and I decided to stay in a hotel this week to give ourselves some alone time - sorely needed. Then we are moving into his mom's house for the rest of the week (on a new bed) and making that our home for the next few nights.
Till then we're in a local suites hotel and they have the most awesome things in the lobby.
First off, here is a shell mirror with sparkly things everywhere. They're going to find out who made it for me - I just LOVE it.
This Christmas Tree in in the lobby of the hotel and again - awesome! Completely docorated with fish and netting etc. My kind of tree.

Indeed your kind of tree but I love it too!
I know this will be a hard time for the two of you but I wish that you will also have a good time together.
You are in my thoughts♥
A good decision to get some alone time. Beautiful shell mirror and the tree is very Fl.
That's one of the better shell mirrors I've seen. And yes, that's a Mim tree! I think you should do a sea theme next year.
I hope you and T are hanging in.
There must be some sense of relief mixed with the sadness.
xo♥
the new space all clean and tidy and decorated sounds like a good choice for a few days to assimilate in part all that has happened. Oh, a big hug to your DH, does he mind hugs. It is so hard when ones mom dies. I have just felt my mom sort of move off, two years after her death. she has floated into heaven or wherever. I didnt know I loved her so and/or was so attached to her. Blessings to you both.
It's lovely to hear from you....
I agree, staying in a hotel with a "neutral" environment is good for you and DH. That mirror looks to be the Floridian version of an old Ventian Glass one..... I'll bet you have a perfect spot to hang it at home! Hope you find out who created it. And...the "Fish-Christmas Tree"..... how wonderful to discover it! I can see the big smile on both your faces when you first saw it!
Thinking of you and DH.... sending strength and love to you!
Hugs and more Hugs,
♥ Robin ♥
For some reason I can keep your blog up long enough to see it all at once. The mirror is lovely. Good choice to stay in the hotel to give yourself some needed time together. My thoughts are with you.
I love all things beachy and these are no exception. I'm glad you are able to find some happiness in your surroundings. Hope things go smoothly for you.
Mim, now that we have a new kitten, I too feel the need to get away and maybe go to a motel for a couple of nights. Then again, we would probably miss our "baby," and come back home around midnight.
Hi Mim - there's a local artist here in Sarasota who has a shop on Palm Ave I believe. She specializes in shell art - it looks like one of hers!
It's beautiful!
Taking care of yourselves, too...that is good! What a lovely mirror and fun tree!
Hugs to you both in this difficult time.
