If she had baggy bottoms she'd be Miss Em. So maybe she's her cousin. I wonder if this is how the lady who started carving the Demdaco figurines started?
I think it's ms em all dressed up and ready to go out on the town! Maybe she has a hot date!
Mim, you are terrific. These are fantastic. Adorable. And oh so just like your drawings. I can feel the tranfer from paper and pen to clay. Absolutely the same character but in a new medium. I LOVE HER!!!! Keep up the good work. I bet it gets easier as you become more used to doing it.
Sort of like how my knitted hearts went from oh so hard to impossible to easy as pie!
KJ and I were talking about you last night and wondering if you know how very talented you are. Like she said, in the past she had always thought of you as a student of art but now she sees the real scope of what you can do.
You're quite amazing! And I love this character :D
I find even the flat pieces to be quite a lot of work...sanding, painting, more layers, blending, varnishing. It all takes so much time but I do love the end result.
Thank you all for your comments - this is an interesting thing to do. Making things three dimensional takes quite the different way of thinking - but yes...it's a ton of work. but fun work
I am loving these little clay and paper mache thingies! Especially the light switch covers. I hate to say this, but I think I like your little doll better when she was unpainted. Sorry, but I do. In any case, they are all adorable.
