New Artwork

For the first time in weeks, I went down to my basement studio to fool around with pen, paper, pencils, and watercolors.  I was determined to get over whatever was keeping me out of the studio basement, but admit that I did the drawing up in the kitchen while DH was making dinner.

My goal was to learn how to do reflections in water, which I got a handle on.

My next goal - according to my in house teacher (and I agree with him) is values...gotta go check that out on YouTube (which is where I leaned about how to do the reflection of the buildings in the water, gotta love YouTube.)

It felt good, it's been too long.

Hey - is any one else confused about this new blogger interface - I can't figure it out!

We've had a lovely weekend, breakfast with the boys (and their 'rents of course); bike riding, and today - a drive to do some antiquing.  Didn't get anything but two books, but it was fun.   Hope you had a lovely weekend  - I'm tired and am heading for bed.

Wow!
Youtube did you good on those reflections,,,it's a great painting, Mim! So color filled and happy.
I could lose a few days on YouTube. Looking, looking, looking.
It's addictive.

Tell ya how confused I get with Blogger. I don't even KNOW if I'm using the new interface.

WOW! this is great, mim. you have such a happy style. you really do.

i'm having no problem with the new blogger and i think that is because i knew nothing to begin with! i needed help knowing how to enlarge my pictures and maybe having this mac instead of my old pc has worked in my favor, but i'm doing better with blogger most of the time. oh happy day. oh except i can't leave comments without the letters looking tiny and unreadable. unless i try ten times. sigh.....

i am glad you spent time in your wonderful studio, mim. ♥

I've been wondering when I was going to see more Mim art. I asked the clay gals on my stove top, but they didn't know either. I guess you haven't called them lately.
I'd say you learned well and mastered the water reflections quite well. I am impressed.
What on the new interface are you having difficulty with? I think I know my way around it okay now. If I can help?...

beautiful reflection mim! the colors are so pretty too, i really like your style.

blogger = boo.
i've been using the new interface for a year (it was blogger in draft), but it bothers that they want you to use google chrome, ie isn't supported anymore. (i know no one likes it anyway, but i do!)
ah well. i hope it gets easier for you.

Doesn't it feel good to draw and paint after a hiatus. I can see your reflections. Good go at them. I will look forward to seeing more. Have a great week.

Glad you are back to painting. Its practice that makes you better. And this is looking great. Just doing something is learning. Yes I have been having problems with the new Blogger, but I did down load the Google Chrome and clicked on it in the tool bar, and now use it as a separate browser for blogger. I can still use my Firefox browser too so It made it much easier for me once I figured that out.I no longer have to go to my old AOL Software which wasn't working that great and driving my computer crazy. :))

Mim...this is so lovely...it could be somewhere warm on the Riveria - or in Capitola (near Santa Cruz)...

You have captured a scene - a mood - a minute in time...and that's what an artist should do!

You had a fun, busy weekend...that's just what you needed after the past month!

I am doing what Cris did...using *Google Chrome* to work on my blog and retaining my other browser for everything else.. so far, so good...

Love,

♥ Robin ♥

Mim, This is a lovely painting. I love the colors and the reflecting water :-).
I learned most of my clay stuff on you tube.
I had a hard time the first time with the new blogger, but just went slowly and I took to it pretty fast.

This is a nice painting. It looks like 'you'. Isn't it funny, how we all have our own style of painting? I like yours.
