Yesterday we spent the day on a beach on Martha's Vineyard, where two friends have houses. Perfect weather, perfect friends, lovely day. Very end-of-summer-light and a fall feel in the air. Their hubbies were fishing, mine went kayaking in ponds and ocean.
MV has a light of it's own making the grass greener, the flowers more richly colored, the beach more beach-colored and the sea blue- green. From a scientific point of view, I'm not sure how and why this happens, but I love it, and always look forward to the clarity of the view anywhere on the island.

Wonderful. Happy Sunday.
Oh, lucky you! Looks like a lovely weekend there.
We are still in the 90s and very muggy here. Ugh.
Enjoy your weekend!
What a lovely lovely expanse of beach you show us here today Mim.
I have never been to Martha's Vineyard. But you and others make it sound so inviting. My daughter's motherinlaw has a 2nd home there. So she has visited often and I've seen their photos. I have been to Nantucket years ago (nearby yes?)...loved the cobble stone streets in the little village town. But they were not good for riding a bicycle on...too bumpy. Such memories. I know YOU are having a wonderful time with family and friends, ENJOY!!!
Oh lovely. I have some sand in a pretty bottle that came from the Island when a friend of mine went for a visit. She brought it back to me and it sits on my coffee table.
how lucky you are to have such kind friends and this beautiful place to visit.
