Tagged

Oh my god – I’ve been tagged by Biteyourowntail. I’ve been reading web blogs for a year and always wondered how this happened. I am now officially not a blog-tagging-virgin.

Here are the rules

1-post these rules
2-each person tagged must post 8 random(... hopefully interesting) facts about themselves
3-tags should write a blogpost of these facts
4- at the end of the post 8 more bloggers are tagged and named
5-go to their blog and leave a comment telling them they're tagged

Okay - here I go

1) I really am a natural blonde
2) On the first day of first grade my teacher actually told me to stop drawing outside the lines – I was shy, scared and devastated – hence an early blight on creativity
3) I get teary eyed when I hear a marching band - John Phillip Sousa type music. It's embarrassing and I try to hide it from family and friends whenever we are at a parade. And I love parades - the old Brooklyn Day parade was just the best.
4) I don’t sleep well – actually only about 4 hours/night with wake ups.
5) I am obsessive about finishing things and that is what often keeps me awake
6) Bill paying sucks and I suck at it.
7) I used to worry about the future but don’t anymore (hmmm…)
8) I am psychic about most medical things (not so much about me but about others)

I'm about to tag the following people:

AfricanKelli
Paper and Threads
Bit by Bit
N.B. Miller
Jeanettes Sketchblog (boy is she going to be MAD)
60b460
Merry Minnow
MyBlogSong

Hi Aunty Mim,
My husband is not only an artist, he is a musician too. He wanted me to tell you: Go get a John Phillip Sousa CD, go into the kitchen and bang on pots and pans, embrace it. John Phillip Sousa spent his entire life making music to evoke those emotions in you.

Tom has been to classical concerts where they played John Phillip Sousa music that brought the serious concert goer out of their seats to wave their meaty arms in the air. :)

Tom says "It is good stuff!"

By the way, teachers are still telling kids to stop drawing outside the lines. My friend's daughter, Sophie, is in pre-school. The teacher told her the same thing and told her mother too. Both of Sophie's parents are artists.

From what i am learning art teaching, both at school and in Universities, is a lot freer here in the UK - other stuff goes on which continues to stop children creating though, sadly - sometimes it's even parents who have forgotten what it's like to be children and how children do draw. It infuriates me - I got squashed too - by my parents - and this stuff seems to haunt us all forever. So it's particularly good that you've picked it up again. good for you.

And yes, you look like a natural blonde. And I hope you aren't secretly mad at me for tagging you!

Auntie Mim, I've only just read that you've tagged me! I shall now go brush the thick cobwebs from what's left of my grey cells and think up interesting facts about myself ... hmmm, am stuck already :)

Oooh -- thank you!
Here I go (unconventionally answering in the comments, I know!)

1. I eat tomatoes every single day. This is a new thing. I don't know when it started, but I know I love them.

2. I dropped my laptop last week. I am currently missing the j and k buttons and it is driving me mad. There are holes on the keyboard and I have to push hard to get them to work.

3. I am shopping for a new laptop.

4. I love to swim. Anytime of the day.

5. I sleep 8 hours or more every night.

6. I am always trying to lose weight.

7. I am therefore always thinking about food.

8. I really want a dog -- a French bulldog I'll name Jackie Kennedy Onassis. :)
