100 things update

When Kerstin first thought of the idea of 100 things and invited others to join I thought it would be a smallish project, probably Casey did too. How long could it take to do 100 things? Well, it's taking a long time but I enjoy every minute of it. The first thing that both of us bought was a notebook to do our 100 things projects in, but mine immediately was either to small, or wasn't available, or wrong paper and so on. So, I thought I would find a notebook that I would alter to contain all my 100 things in. I bought a brown paper covered photo album in Borders last weekend and am working on it to hold as much as my 100 things that are appropriate to put into a notebook.

In the front of the book I put an envelope that holds the strips of paper - each with one of the 100 things on it. It's just in there temporarily right now - I'll find a better way to attach it. This way I can just pick out one item and do that project. I have no rules about it...if I don't feel like doing that thing today or this week...I just put it back and take another one. I'm going to decorate the cover and keep an index of sorts so that I can make sure that all 100 (actually 94 or 95) get done.

Here are some of the inside pages. I am not putting them in numerical order, but rather completion order, or where they can fit in the book. I'm purposely sort of chunk cutting out of my other books - uneven edges etc. I didn't want this to be a project unto itself and want the spontaneous, chunky look. I also have a few things in there that can be flipped over and attached those with paper strips with PVA glue. So far that's working pretty well.

The album is really cool. First of all, I just love brown paper covering. I´m not really sure why. Usually I prefer the "cleaner" look for drawings, but I see more and more wonderful art on brown paper.
Then I like the way the white and colored pages stand out with the black background. Great.

What a great idea! And you've gotten so much done - you are much more productive than I.
Seeing this post got me started again - thanks!
