Animal Wednesday - parrot

I did this guy in plain pencil first and liked him...then messed him up with color - but I think I've rescued him - I had gotten his eyes wrong at first.   They are a little bit intense here, next time I'll pay more attention to a bird's eye.
HAW to everyone today - give a hug to all your animals!

My own personal parrot was a bit bratty this morning-he went over to the feed sacks and was making off with the entire bag of peanuts-then got a little snippy when I took it away from him. I addressed it-snippiness in a bird that used to be terrified is actually an improvement-he feels confident enough to challenge me.

I gave him a brown bag with some peanuts in it and he went running around the floor of his cage shaking the bag furiously before ripping the bag to get his peanuts. Parrots are easily amused.....so am I.

Pasht is watching the cursor move from my shoulder as I write this, and she would like to add that cats are the one true perfect pet. (her words, not mine)...but she does approve of the parrot-he keeps her amused.

He is lovely... and I always enjoy looking at pieces of art with lots of hidden details and textures. Maybe its the beginning of a line of parrot studies. Thanks for sharing.

I know that my cats today do not want to mess around with hugging your parrot. Or maybe they would :)

Love your parrot. I had a small parrot growing up. She had the run of the house. With clipped wings of course. Coco used to talk & squawk alot too. Guess that's where my love of bird's began.

hugs to you, dearest Mim.
this parrot is so lovely and the green is so lively...
we have parrots in our neighborhood... i love the way they scream and fly so gracefully in the sky with their long tails...
they also come to eat walnuts from the tree in front of the window next to my desk... i hear them but when i go to watch them, i cannot see them... the green color is a great camouflage...
