Illustration Friday - Foggy

Mom was very Foggy about things when I talked to her on the phone today. Distractions, home-health care, daughter in hospital, son traveling - sometimes it all just gets to be too much. But she's always smiling!

I am just like your Mom. I think every mom gets foggy sometimes. I like her hair.

i love it when you talk about your mom, she has had a tough time with your dad being ill too.

Mom goes in and out of the fog in her own way, most of the time very content but sometimes more confused than anything. They have had a tough time with the health aid - I'll post about it cause it's kind of scary but people need to know.

Foot - goes between terrible and lousy. It's worse than I thought it would be but I think it will be fine after a week or so.

At least she's still smiling! But yep, the multi-tasking does take a beating as one becomes older (and wiser, of course).

I guess foggy can come from various things. I never understood foggy so well as when I was under great stresses. Oh, I said, hmmm, I too can become foggy. So much stress sometimes being old. And all the new things to deal with. I thought it was YOU who was the foggy one! What I mean is I thought before I saw the picture, you were referring to yourself.

Age and dementia can do this...my mom described it as a fog coming in and then later clearing so her mind would be clear for a bit and then the fog came in again...
So hard for her/them.
I do not look forward to it if/when it happens to me.

It's sad to see these things happen. Mind fog is the worst.
Great answer to IF.
