Sometimes it's just all too much...

I just got home from being in PEI all week for work - eating out 3 meals a day with the same three guys. Had to drive hours and hours with them from PEI to Halifax. I'm sure that they are as sick of me as I am of them - and they really are nice work friends. I flew home this morning and went to work. Got home tonight to unopened mail and boxes, too many things around. Clothes that don't fit anymore. Raffle tickets to sell. Papers to file. Dinner to cook and clean up. Batteries to charge and trashcans to empty. Sometimes it's all just overwhelming. I feel like I'm walking into a hole. Miss Em understands....

Poor Mim and Ms Em. What is it you do in your work life? I probably heard this before but do not recall. You do sound like you need to paddle right back to the cape and hunker down in that hammock again. You weren't ready to go back to work yet.

Oh, how true. Today my car wouldn't start, I forgot to take my lunch with me, and I am getting a cold....

Kerstin understands you too. Ever since the birth of my two kids I feel overwhelmed.
SOmehow for me life seemed easier with lots of work and without family.
Sometimes I do miss those times... but I´m hopeing to be back tp some work soon.

it was my turn for a lovely day. Friend, spring sunshine, walk, seafront with island, cafe lunch, talk, laughs and kindness. Sorry!

I think maybe Miss Em deserves some curled up quiet time in that cozy hole she's headed toward. I imagine a furry, red fox joining her...wrapped around her feet.

Teri - you're right. I love having a character who I can manipulate...so much fun. Lynn - I'm a biochemist in "real" life and work for a large, but socially conscious, pharmaceutical company. The problem was that everyone was happy to see me yesterday after about 3 weeks away...so everyone stopped by the office to say hello, and where were you, etc etc. I was glad to see everyone and to chat but.....
Bibi - don't you just hate it when you feel those colds coming on? Time to jump into a hot bath and then flannel PJ's and go to bed. Kerstin, you may not believe it now, but it does get easier with the kids...and more routine (in a way)
Eliz - SPRING SUNSHINE????? wow and yes Ms Switchsky - I think that little miss em needs to curl up somewhere with a good book and hibernate for awhile!

My kind of week too! Finishing up packing the studio, rented a dumpster at home to make room in garage for said studio stuff and pile up eventual yard sale junk, fitting in time for my furry patients and eating and drinking whatever I want every night and getting FATTER because of the stress. My house should be condemned, it's been so neglected.
Today will be more of the same.

Hang in there Miss Em!
