More drawings in process

First of all...yes...it's 2:30 in the morning.  DH is away this week and for some reason I can't sleep well.  Last week on vacation, I did nothing but sleep, snooze, nap, and sleep some more. I napped while reading, and when my head hit the pillow at night I was out like a light.  This week, I'm up all night. I nap for an hour, and then wake up.  So I decided to make the most of my midnight wakefulness, and continued work on the Water Lily Girl adventures.  These are works-in-process - in varying stages.  I now have about 16 drawings...and it might be time to actually work on a story of sorts, I'll have to think about that.

The kayak pic - I think finished.

From another angle

Asking the frog for a ride across that stone wall

Actually getting the fide across the stone - which you have seen before, but now the frog has spots.

With another WLG - waving goodbye to the frog ride.

Giving a stick to a beaver, but I think this one has to be redone, as the beaver is too small.

Hitching a ride back to the original pond, with a dragonfly.

A partially colored pic of a dragonfly ride - wheeeee

Bye bye dragonfly -

Day is over, jumping into the pond to go home for the night

Home is where the upside down boat is.

Hope you're enjoying this series.

i speechlessly say fantastic! the story is emerging itself!

the softness of your water colors, the coloring of the rocks. these little adventurers, their frog and dragon fly companions: mim: this is so charming. i can see why you would be up at midnight doing these. very exciting.

and now their underwater home. you go, girl. magic is happening.

I have no doubt my grandkids and I would enjoy reading this book once it is done!

I finally see the legs and shoes in the kyack (top drawing) which I thought for some reason were the shadows of two people and didn't quite "get" before. Now I do!

Paintings and drawings are all delightful! So well done! Bravo!

These are just too cute, Mim. Make up a good story to go with them. This would make such a great children's book.

I never sleep well when my husband is gone either. Seems like lack of sleep is good for you, gets your muse in a happy place. I love your water lilly people - can't wait to see what story comes with the pics.
