After this realization I made a decision. I have been researching new sewing machines but was put off by the high price but now...after much deliberation and research and soul searching - I've decided to buy a very, very nice new sewing machine - a Pfaff Quilter 2048. This is more than I have ever spent on anything for myself, but I am tired of fighting with my little Euro Shark. I love to sew, and want nice, reliable equipment to use.
Anyone else have a Pfaff? Any advice? (on sewing, life, equipment, buying something good for yourself etc)

My son just got his wife a lovely little singer as a first machine and she is so thrilled with it. don't know anything about them, but i say 'go on, spoil yourself, after all what are you working for?'

I am a stumbling amateur but have been shown on my Mac to click the little Blogger image icon, then 'browse' which takes me to the temporary file on my desktop where I send images. Then 'Open' does it.
I am a gadget head-I say get it-and you'll get more "respect" amongst the snooty quilting ladies...LOL. I bought the Great White Shark (LOL) which has some fancy stitches, but if I ever get going, I want one of those fabulous things where you design on your computer in a thousand dollar program, put the design in a sewing machine and viola-your machine embroiders your design for you!

I hope you are happy with your purchase. Did you go to the store and sit and try it out before buying it? My advice would be to do this first.
The money is worth it if it's a good machine and you like it.
