Believe me, it is a sad way to live. I vote not healthy. Living in survival mode for too long of a period of time is not healthy. We all have to do it from time to time but hopefully not full time.
Being as I have not been able to sustain a marriage and tend to live alone I don't feel qualified to comment. That's a pretty heavy duty wall though. Might a curtain or a screen be more porous. ?
Mim, before I read the words I saw the picture as Ms.Em painting pictures and handing them over to the wall to her "other self" who's putting them into a book! Then I saw the picture as Ms. Em the artist and Ms. Em the serious minded and the conflict of how to use her time. It's funny to see your alter ego have an alter ego :) I definately see it as her "inner struggle" though, not towards someone she lives with.
Analytical Em looks a bit angry, while Emotional Em is trying to appease. Maybe Analytical should be less emotionally invested in her position, and Emotional should quit calculating how to appease.
It reminds me of that tarot card with the bound, blindfolded lady. They could both just walk around the wall if they wanted to.

not sure if I voting for "not-healthy"
or
"survivial"

This is interesting. I think people need to have some space that live together but not that thick of a wall. So not healthy is my vote. :)

the experts...what the hell do they know??? do what feels right, then try something else too...till it works is what i say.
I don't know.
Keep painting the daisies.
alter - ego with an alter -ego. Yeah...
Everyone's interpretations are as interesting as your sketch. My first thought was, 'been there, done that' and it was survival also.
mim, i only wish i had a wall between these two. my emotions and thoughts spill over like a river without its banks--not always the safest of places.
Well at least one of them is trying to communicate! Makes me think it will all be solved soon.
