Do you see someone soaring over the dangerous peaks below? or someone throwing herself onto sharp, dangerous objects which could not lead to a good ending?
I see an excited, exhuberant sort of "wheeeeeeeee"-thrilling, a little dangerous, but fun. What's interesting to me is that I did a piece on Sunday for Wednesday's post that has a "what do you see" theme it as well. We must have caught the same vibe.
I like the fiery quality of the peaks. It adds to the unknown-could those be flames, which are not solid, but can still hurt, or just pretty jagged peaks?
Yep, the more I look at the figure, the more she seems to be propelled and not falling. Does that make me an optimist?
Interesting comments - not so sure about the concept of the glowing mattress -- but it's an interesting thought. And yes, Deb - you are an optimist! the more I look at this, the more I see the "WHEE-HEE" factor of flying and not knowing where the landing will take place. Does that make me an adventurer?
she's soaring for sure... her posture is so upward... no hint of fall... yes she's got no wings... but maybe her cloak is magical and maybe the heat of pointed objects send her upper...
those red heated triangels connote a sense of sexuality... is she escaping the the world of physical passion to take refuge in a metaphysical one... or maybe she is in a transcendental phase...
Soaring. She is facing upward, her arms are up and her body aimed up. OK time to call in the art therapist here :) Just kidding. The peaks look like upside down icecream cones.
I see Super Woman flying over Hell Fire and damnation! LOL She is free and is just passing by, she does not belong there. Must have taken a wrong turn somewhere or is looking to make sure someone who does belong there got in okay! LOL
If you keep the picture upright, she is almost bowing to the jagged flames.
If you have the liberty to turn your computer upside down or your neck likewise, she is surrendering, arms up.
What the flames represent is highly subjective, of course.
I see them as agents of transformation. She cannot stay the same, she must either project herself (or 'soar') above the physical/mundane/negative below her or succumb to it and consequently fall, becoming a part of it.
Regardless of the pish-posh, over-the-top psychological meaning, it is pretty. My eyeballs like the faint yellow at the sides and the oranges too.

I saw it as a particularly enjoyable kind of mattress, all soft glowing pointy bits of synthetic material. She has just gone over the high-jump bar.
soaring can get tiring and so a short nap on that fancy glowing mattress might be just the thing.
I saw it soaring over beautiful peaks below. Maybe take a rest on a orange glowing mountain meadow.
