I'm staying in a lovely hotel, an old fashioned but updated Inn. Out my window is a classic scene - gaslights (well, really not but they look like gaslights) and white light - lit christmas trees up and down the street. It's been snowing since last night, there is alot more snow on the ground than seen in this picture and I can hear the plows trying to get the streets clean. I don't have a 4 wheel drive up here, so will take it easy on the roads and get to work when I can. I am with a few others so have plenty of friends to hang with for the day. Perhaps I'll draw. Perhaps read. It's nice not to have to worry about driving into the city.
It could be worse - eh?

I got snowed in a hotel in Rochester NY once while I was on a business trip. My business ended on Friday but I was staying until Sunday to get cheaper airfare. The company I was visiting had given me a bottle of wine and some chocolate so I spend the entire weekend in my hotel room, ordering room service and eating chocolate. The wine, of course, was gone by Friday night. It was kind of fun but I was definitely ready to come home.
Actually, it sounds like fun!
One of the best weekends in my life was spent during a rainy spell in Santa Barbara. I was there on business and I did get out for a dinner with my brother, but most of the weekend was spend with the patio door open to the beach listening to the rain and reading a Mrs. Murphy mystery. With the door open it was a bit chilly, so I wore sweatpants and snuggled into those lucious sheets and ordered room service for every meal. Santa Barbara is way cool, but my favorite memory is of the weekend spent indoors.
It is kinda fun. I've with a group and we've had alot of "togetherness" so I am begging off tonight - and opening my drawing pad!
Dear Mim-are you buried under a snowbank? Shall we send out the Saint Bernarnds?
