Dear Deer

These guys were happily chomping away on my rhododendrons. I knew I should scare them away, but didn't. About 8 were in the yard. Part of me shrieks "Lyme disease" - the other part whispers "beautiful animal".

Hi dear new friend, Auntie Mim!
I repeat the words of that whispering part of you and say: Beauuuuutiful animal!

Konck! Knock! Knock!
Nobody's at the door ... I'm knocking on the wood for that beautiful animal and also for you, a brilliant artist.. I saw some of your drawings and quilts here...just some minutes ago...and also understood you believed in 'evil eye'...so knock knock knock again..
You know, the concept of 'evil eye' can be justified by quantom physics... all the world is energy, so....

We have that symbolic image of five fingers of a hand in our culture,too.. . called Panjeh, derived from Panj(5)

Your name(mim)is the name of the 28th letter of our alphabet(Farsi -Persian)-- equivalent to M in English.
What does it mean? kind of abbreviation? or again name of a letter?... Aha! Maybe you have it in Hebrew? Am I right?

Wow... letters, sounds, words,... from different laguages, and as you said all of them are beautiful in any language...
Thanks for your comment.
Happy to know you.

I love deer. In Austin last year, groups of deer would come up to be hand fed corn. Yep, I could see the ticks, and I just didn't care.

You could make them some quilted blankets...

Hey Mim, you are so lucky to have such a view behind your house. Great!
BTW: I finally sent off the PIF-gift today! :)

nice picture... shows the gentle but untamed nature of a deer that any moment if you get near would shun away from the scene...

heheh your title reminds me of the confusion i got in grammar school... back then i interchange the dear word from the deer vice versa (laughing)

well good day

thanks all, yes we do have alot of land here; about 2 acres. lot;s of privacy and lots of room for deer. I'd actually like more land, about 10 acres to be able to really do some fun gardening, hiking etc. but next life!

Deer are a pest here in East Anglia too, but yes they are soooo beautiful, so delicate and fragile - all the more so in this lovely photo.

This has to be on of my all time favourite blog photographs - EVER! Truly awesome!

We have deer in the Dell but they are rarely seen - at least by me as I am usually accompanied by five children and a mad Jack Russell!
