My camera was acting up and out of the 100 pictures that I took last night, only about 3 came out. Oh well, here's a picture of the table before it was trashed with food, kids, people, more food, wine and fun.
yontiv or shabbat? looks so homely, makes me 'homesick' for my past. although i don't celebrate anything any more, i still 'feel' my roots very deeply. reminds me of many happy times with my brother and late parents....
It was homey, and I don't get to do this much - but it was like being back at Grandma's! New Year dinner, lots of food, (too much food), kids, cousins, aunts and uncles. Loved it!
Reminds me of the sheet of plywood we would drag out from under my parents mattress(Dad liked an extra-firm mattress) and down stairs to make our dining room table big enough for everyone..always added a rickety card table too..for the kids...
I never celebrate these things anymore either(like FY), but I do make a damn good loaf of challah..this reminds me I haven't in awhile. Soon.
