I love your fishies! The gray edges give the picture some depth. I thought it was a artistic touch of yours until you grumbled about the scanner. I grumble at mine too.
I like the color! Perhaps the scanner lid is not closed as tightly as it could be and light is getting in or out? It doesn't ruin the pictures in my viewpoint.
I like the gray edges too. I bet your paper is smaller than your scan table and your scanner is picking up the difference between the paper and the back of the lid.
I double what Debra Kay said about the scanner. I usually put a piece of paper on top of my art if the art piece doesn't go edge to edge.
Now about those FABULOUS fish...I love them!! The one girly fish following the studfish cracks me up! Do you think the studfish flicks sand in the face of the weakfish? Just asking :D
Hi Mim, I haven't been around for a long time, (don't know why I so so many things that I don't have time to go to my friends' blogs anymore, but feel that I don't have the choice really) and have to catch up here. These fishes are wonderful, funny, I love seeing (and painting too) fishes. These here look wise:)
And you changed you blog, did you? It is nice like this, with the big images, love Andrea

I so enjoy your fishes Mim. The colors and the way you come up with their personalities.
it's the lips that do it for me. and the colours. when mine goes grey like this i just crop it off.

These are so awesome! They have such personality, I agree. Any chance the page edges roll up just a bit and leave a shadow?
You are really on a roll with these fish and they are all so fun!!
Cute fish, and I like the grayish edges. Maybe you should paint them on the page? Nah.

I wanted to do a "charles atlas" fish and the "weakling" fish - but just don't have the talent (boo hoo)
The grey edges - I think they are because the paper is bigger than the scanner and then some light get's in etc etc etc....
They are great!
Love the little blue fish!
