Knitting

Mom and I went to a knitting store the other day in Sarasota - a great place in an antique shop. The woman who owned the place had great yarns and patterns, all kinds of fun things - like a knitted stuffed pig. She had two skeins of purple silk fabric cut up into long strips for knitting - so I bought them and made a scarf. Garter stitch to keep it from being too long and stringy - which I don't like in a scarf.

It doesn't photograph very well, but is really pretty, with bits and pieces of lavender silk poking out. 1 day of work, and done. Ready to wear in this cold March weather. Lovely and warm. Satisfying.

ooooh, I love it! A friend made me one like that in turquioses and blues. I love how they look.

I'm getting a sense you love pastel colors. This is quite pretty.

Beautiful colors and so unique! When you are not wearing it, that is a great place to hang it.

I would have never thought of a silk scarf like that, it's so wild like windblown hair and the color is like velvet pansies...I am ready for spring and would even wear that scarf as a sash, maybe?

it's a great scarf and very warm for these cold days. Very easy to do also, and if you have scraps of fabric or lenghts, it is cheap also. I am thinking of attempting a jacket or long vest with some silk fabric that I have but need to work on the pattern.
