Six Word Saturday

Facebook is freaking me out - yikes.

Have you jumped on the Facebook wagon? I just did and it's like the cracks in my life - which were nicely sealed - have broken wide open again with all the people who are coming out of the woodwork. Old friends from Brooklyn, from Church and Flatbush hangouts. First boyfriend. Richie from around the corner. Mostly it's Brooklyn people so far, but college people are starting to show up.

Since I mostly live in a dream world, to me there were all just dreams - not reality anymore. Does that make sense?

I like the connection with recent friends - and some people that I will always love (yes, you Hil) but wow - Frankie Krupit????

I'm watching this tentatively. But being the voyeur that I am, I can't help but poke around in places that bring bad odd memories. But perhaps I can put some of those old wierd memories to bed. for good.

facebook is odd. I certainly agree. I am not sure about it. not one bit.

it seems like everyone is there..almost by default or something.

I just got on Facebook and it's a strange new world to be sure. I definitely am not as open on facebook as I am on my blog-because while people COULD look up my blog-they would have to know it was me to know it was ME. Sometimes I post things on the blog I would not want the neighbors across the way discussing-at least not with ME....

Isn't it strange how we all have levels of intimacy with different people, and many times, our blog relationships are more intimate in that we discuss things we don't feel comfortable sharing with the corner grocer or our own mothers? The blogosphere is kind of anonymous and friendly at the same time.

I can see where Facebook could get complicated. I know my niece uses it to network a lot because she's just divorced (or about to be) and dating. But it seems like in that case, the network thing could backfire.

Will old boyfriends start chatting with current husbands? I don't know.

Weird, I just quit Facebook a few days ago! It feels like an assault or a bombardment of too much stuff most times. I like the blog and the friends I've made here. With Facebook you're almost forced to respond. Here you only respond if you want to which is why we've formed such good friendships. I also tried to accept something from a facebook friend and it got me into all kinds of bad links. Ugh...not for me! Be careful :)

I'm still hesitating about facebooK Of course I'm curious, but I feel that the internet would completely overtake my life. For now I'll learn from you.

FB is a tricky world. At first I was apprehensive. I joined due to girlfriends in high school and then to see my family that is spread everywhere and to far away, other countries. I have seen graduations, weddings, babies born and connected to dear lost friends. And made some new ones also :)

It is worthwhile, but there are some copyright issues that are iffy in my book. I have limited who I have let enter into my world there, due to family privacy.

So I need to know you in order to accept you and I have set the privacy to friends only... No friends of friends that is where it can get weird.

Delete is always an option and blocking also :)
So set your boundaries and you will enjoy it...
